When a form wants photo and signature as one image
Some application portals accept a single image containing the photograph above the signature, rather than two separate uploads. Others insist on separate files and will reject a combined one. Read the upload screen before merging: if it shows two distinct file inputs with their own size limits, they are meant to stay separate, and combining them is a rejection you can avoid.
Where a combined image is accepted, the usual failure is proportion rather than quality. The signature strip is often reduced until the strokes break up, or the photo is stretched to fill an unusual aspect ratio. Keep both elements at the size they were captured, place the signature in its own band beneath the photograph rather than overlapping it, and check the merged file against whatever KB limit the form states.
