What the Saudi Arabia application actually asks for

  • The Saudi eVisa photograph is SQUARE — 200 x 200 pixels, between 5 KB and 100 KB — so a 35 x 45 mm passport crop is the wrong shape for it entirely.
  • The portal asks for the face to fill roughly 70-80% of the frame, which it expresses as about 1.4 by 1.6 inches from chin to crown, on a plain white background with no pattern and no shadow, and no more than six months old.
  • The eVisa is issued electronically and the photograph is uploaded rather than printed, so there is no print size to match — the pixel figures are the whole requirement. Prepare from the original image rather than scanning a printed copy, which loses detail the 200x200 frame cannot spare.
  • The final canvas is only 200 x 200 pixels. Crop from the largest original you have rather than from an already-resized copy, then inspect the exported file at its actual pixel dimensions to make sure the face remains clear.

Before you upload — Saudi Arabia photo preparation checklist

  • A plain, evenly lit background to start (we apply the selected colour)
  • Face the camera straight on, both ears roughly visible
  • Neutral expression, mouth closed, eyes open
  • A recent photo, taken within the last 6 months
  • Shadows on your face or the wall behind you
  • Glasses — remove them unless they're medically required
  • Hair across the eyes, hats or caps
  • Filters, beauty smoothing, or a cropped group photo
