Application-specific notes for TNPSC
- TNPSC divides the photograph into two parts with exact measurements: the whole image is 4.5 cm high (170 pixels) by 3.5 cm wide (130 pixels), of which YOUR IMAGE occupies 3.0 cm (115 pixels) and a strip carrying your name and the date of photography occupies the remaining 1.5 cm (55 pixels) at the bottom. It is not a caption added over the picture — it is a defined band beneath it.
- The date printed on that strip must be on or after the date of the notification you are applying under. A photograph taken before the notification was published does not qualify however recent it looks, and the photograph itself must be within the last three months.
- The files are named literally: Photograph.jpg at 20 to 50 KB and Signature.jpg at 10 to 20 KB. Both bands are tighter than most, and your name and the date must remain clearly legible after compression.
About this exam
TNPSC One-Time Registration stores a photograph and signature, but the current application instructions also require a colour photograph taken on or after the notification date to be uploaded for each application. This is a file-upload workflow, not live capture. The notice publishes fixed pixel dimensions, KB bands, 200 DPI and the name/date strip.
