Application-specific notes for CTET

• CTET publishes physical dimensions as well as file sizes. The photograph is 3.5 cm wide by 4.5 cm high and the signature 3.5 cm by 1.5 cm, so the shape matters and not only the KB figure.
• The signature band is unusually tight at 3 to 30 KB against 10 to 100 KB for the photograph. Scan or crop only the signed area on plain paper; a phone photograph of the whole page includes background that spends bytes without improving the signature.
• The notice states the uploaded photograph is matched against the candidate who appears at the centre, so a current likeness matters more than a flattering one.
• The stored pixels preserve the physical proportions but are not interchangeable: 350 x 450 for the portrait and 280 x 120 for the signature. Check width and height in that order; swapping them rotates the required orientation even though the same two numbers are present.
• Both assets are JPG, yet their lower bounds differ sharply. The signature may be as small as 3 KB while the photograph begins at 10 KB, so compress each against its own published band and inspect the result instead of applying one quality setting to both files.
• The September 2026 bulletin is the scope of this record. Keep the generated files, but compare them with the bulletin and preview belonging to the CTET session you are actually submitting if CBSE opens a later examination cycle.
