Application-specific notes for RBI

  • RBI's annex records a preferred 200 x 230 pixel portrait between 20 and 50 KB and a preferred 140 x 60 pixel signature between 10 and 20 KB. Preferred geometry and mandatory byte bands are distinct wording, so preserve the shapes while checking the current application preview.
  • The photograph uses a light or white background. The signature is written in black ink on white paper, then cropped to the signature area; photographing the whole sheet spends the 10 to 20 KB window on empty paper rather than handwriting detail.
  • Both assets are JPG or JPEG scanned in true colour at 200 DPI. DPI is a scan setting paired with the annex's preferred canvas, not a replacement for checking encoded pixels and bytes in the exported files.
  • The linked annex predates the review date and serves as RBI scanning guidance. Compare it with the Grade B or Assistant notice and opportunities.rbi.org.in session you are using, because a common banking-style canvas is not proof that every RBI cycle retained each field.
  • The signature window spans only 10 KB, while the photograph spans 30 KB. Export the two independently, inspect the signature strokes at actual size, and avoid using a single compression quality simply because both images share a JPEG encoder.

About this exam

The Reserve Bank of India recruits Grade B Officers and Assistants through its own recruitment portal at opportunities.rbi.org.in, separate from the IBPS common exam used by most other public-sector banks.
